Dianhong Group
Yunnan Dianhong Group was established in 1939. In its early years it was known as Shunlin Experimental Tea Factory, Yunnan China Tea Ltd. Co., it became a state own Shunlin Tea Factory in 1950, and changed its name to Fengqing Tea Factory in 1954.
In Dec. 1996 an apprval was given by Yunnan government, a corporation was born with Fengqing Tea factory as the core business entity, plus 5 partners. Two restructions were done in 2001, and 2003, Dianhong stock commitee was setup by 16 stock holders, a private enterprise was born. The company has 30.93 million registered capital in RMB. The total assets were worth 1.7 billion RMB. It owns large scale tea fields, 50000 mu in total (within that 20000 mu are certified organic). The company has 86 pre-processing workshops, and more than 10 production lines that made Gongfu black tea, Black tea, CTC Black Tea, Green Tea, Pu-erh Tea, Compressed Tea (Brick, Tuocha, and Cakes), Jasmine Tea, Teabags, and instant tea, a total 130 varieties. The production capacity is 10000 tons that valued at 1 billion RMB. The total export exceeds 5 million USD. Dianhong Group is a famous tea company and one of the largest enterprise that integrated research, production and trade in Yunnan Province.
It's worth to note that Dianhong suffered at the international markets during the downturns of 90s last century due to low price competition. The company began its organic conversion in 1998, started from the development of organic tea fields. In 2002 Dianhong had 5 organic tea growing bases, 11000 mu tea garden, with a production of 1200 tons organic products, including Black Tea, Green Tea and CTC, Pu-erh and compressed Tea. In 2005 25000 mu tea fields would be converted organic. Dianhong is the chinese supplier for Lipton.
